Frequently Asked Questions

  • Sessions are 8 consecutive lessons, typically Monday through Thursday, two weeks in a row. Lessons are 30 minutes at the same time each day. We find this length an consistency to be just right for learning retention. Do we recommend registering for more than one summer session? YES! We typically recommend 2 sessions in a summer as the optimal growth opportunity!

  • We want you to feel welcome to get your child settled into their lessons on day one, of course. You are also welcome to just drop off your children, if you wish. They will be cared for and watched constantly during their lesson time, which makes it a great opportunity for independence. Kids typically do best when they are focused on the lessons they are learning. If waiting for your child on site, there is seating both inside the pool area and outside in the patio area.

  • We have a bathroom on site for your use and ask that you have your wet children dry off before entering the house. Ask your swim teachers to direct you.

  • It is possible for 2 siblings to lesson at the same time, but they will have 2 separate teachers and the fee remains the same (just more time-efficient!) Some lesson availability only allows for us to try to schedule siblings back-to-back. We certainly try to schedule families with 2 or 4 kids together with “double” lessons times!

  • We typically find that kids are ready to take instruction for one on one lessons when they are 4 years old, but if you are interested in having a conversation about your unique child’s situation, feel free to email us with more information about your child and we will let you know if an earlier start might be possible. We accept kids under 3 in rare situations, as we find that kids tend to be developmentally ready for instruction and progress at the age of 4. We want this experience to be worth your time and your resources! Spending time getting comfortable in and around water with a parent or loved one is key to being ready for lessons! (Blowing bubbles in the water and unafraid of getting one’s face wet is especially helpful!)

  • Yes, there will likely be two lessons going on at the same time. Each lesson is one-on-one, but simultaneously taking place during the same 1/2 hour.
